Wonderful vintage otter fur sporran with glass eyes. head lifts up to show pouch. The sporran has some minor fur rubs to his eyebrows which you would expect after almost 100 years, somehow this adds to its character. In good used antique condition. Tooled back with this design.
Slightly smaller than modern sporrans vintage pieces from the 1920’s period have a great style to them. Size Approx. 8″ x 6″ = 21cm x 15cm

As worn by Brigadier Simon Christopher Joseph Fraser, 15th Lord Lovat and 4th Baron Lovat, DSO, MC, TD, JP, DL when he married on 10 October 1938. The same style is currently worn by his grandson Simon Christopher Joseph Fraser, 16th Lord Lovat and 5th Baron Lovat (born 13 February 1977) has been the chief of Clan Fraser of Lovat since the death of his grandfather in 1995.

There are two main branches of the clan: the MacLeods of Harris and Dunvegan, whose chief is MacLeod of MacLeod, are known in Gaelic as Sìol Tormoid ( “seed of Tormod”); the Clan MacLeod of Lewis and Raasay, whose chief is Macleod of The Lewes (Scottish Gaelic: Mac Ghille Chaluim), are known in Gaelic as Sìol Torcaill (“seed of Torcall”). Both branches claim descent from Leòd, who lived in the 13th century.
