Vintage Erskine Clan glengarry badge pin. Clan motto’ Je Pense Plus ‘. Stamped hallmarked on the back Edinburgh – Thomas Ebbutts 1953.

Size approx 47mm x 40mm

The surname Erskine was originally derived from the lands of Erskine, which is an area to the south of the River Clyde in Renfrew. The name is believed to be ancient or Old British for green rising ground.

As early as the reign of Alexander II of Scotland, Henry de Erskine was proprietor of the barony. In about 1226 Henry was a witness to a charter by the Earl of Lennox of the patronage and tithes of Rosneath to Paisley Abbey.

Scottish 19th century traditional turned laburnum wood toddy ladle. The ladle measures 8″ (20.5cm) in length overall, bowl has rim diameter of 1 1/2″ (3.8cm). It is in antique original condition as per photos with a chip on one side of the bowl after nearly 200 years of use, still holds whisky for your favourite dram. Please see photos for condition.
