Brown Leather Infantry Sword Knot

Brown leather standard infantry pattern with
braided acorn end. Universal Field Service
pattern first adopted in 1899, this knot saw
extensive service in the trenches of WWI and
is still used today.  This knot went especially
with the field brown scabbard

The sword knot, decorative as it
fighting weapon.
The sword knot is a loop of
leather or other material
secured to the sword hilt.

Before an engagement the
swordsman wraps the loop
around his wrist to prevent loss
of the sword should he need to
relax his grip or if the weapon is
struck from his grasp.
